Dhal cooked with spinach
1/2 cup lentils (Mysore dhal)
250ml water
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/2 onion, chopped
150grams spinach, just broken up
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk

Method
Wash lentils.
Place in pan, add water and turmeric and bring to the boil. Lower the heat otherwise lentils will boil over.
When lentils have cooked, add onion and spinach.
Cover the pan and let the spinach cook for about 7 minutes on a low heat.
Once the spinach has cooked, add the salt and milk and cook on a low heat for another 5-10 minutes.
Remove pan from stove and serve lentils with plain rice or bread.
